I AM FROM POEM

I AM FROM

I am from Pueblo Street.

I am from good times and hard times.

I am from skateboarding down hills.

I am from peanut butter oatmeal.

I am from many small homes, moving often.

I am from Sunday afternoon church--then pot roast for lunch.

I am from a family of eight.

I am from building forts and backyard treasure.

I am from catching frogs and bugs and hiding from my dad.

I am from hand-me downs and left-overs.

I am from lightning bugs and bedtime hugs.

I am from long walks to the Kwik Stop.

Mostly, I am from myself.

I am from making my own failures and successes.

I am from earning what I have and learning from my past.

I am from GOD.
